Beyoncé Poses For Harpers Bazaar Magazine In Paris

Beyoncé, who just released her new single Run The World (Girls) this week, was spotted on a balcony at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, France this week posing for a Harper’s Bazaar magazine photoshoot. Taking a page from the girl power vibe of her new song, Bey was photographed in a few powerful Evita-like poses. [...]

Yesterday was David’s and my first full day here at his parent’s house in Connecticut and I’m not gonna lie … it was a very quiet day. Because we’re out in the country (ie. woods that get so dark at night that you half expect to see murderers, vampires or flesh-eating zombies roaming around in the back yard), there really ain’t much to do. For the most part, I spent a nice relaxing day reading and hanging out with David’s family. BUT, by nightfall (presumably to distract from the fact that the darkness outside looks like a horror film waiting to happen), it was time to dye Easter Eggs!

David’s family celebrates Passover and Easter so while we will be having a Seder Dinner tonight, we will be hunting for Easter Eggs tomorrow morning. Fun Fun Fun all around. We made eggs for everyone in the family as well as some of our friends (like Emma and Josh) and just had a fun time getting messy and hanging out.

The BIG fun will get started in a few hours, tho. I LOVE having Seder Dinner with David’s family. I brought some fun Passover toys and I’ll be wearing my very own yarmulke (which I procured in Berlin last month at the Jewish Museum) for the first time so … I’m excited! I’ll be sure to post photos on Twitter thruout dinner and, of course, I’ll share them here on the blog tomorrow. Happy Saturday! I hope it’s a great one for all y’all!!

Why Southern Gospel Music Inspires Our Soul

Music itself can inspire, it can motivate, and it can give us hope. However, nothing compares to how praise and worship songs seem to touch the very core of your being. Their words seem to literally seep into your very soul and make you acutely aware that there are greater things out there, than what currently surrounds you.

Starting a band and playing a great gig isn't only for musical geniuses - it's for anyone who wants to have a blast, show others a great time, and best yet - you don't have to be a flawless musician.

Oh no! The Broadway curse has weaseled its way onto the set of the new Spider-Man movie!

Thankfully, no one was hurt!

Three production grips found themselves trapped mid-air yesterday for three hours while working on the new movie, The Amazing Spider-Man, in Manhattan. The grips were attempting to build a platform six stories high that would support a camera set up on the roof of a building in Chinatown when a malfunction occurred on the crane they were on.

It took the FDNY three hours to finally rescue the three men as the computers for the crane, as one of the grips explained later, "went blank…like someone turned off the dark switch."

Thankfully, firefighters were finally able to get use of a cherrypicker - a crane on a truck with a basket at the end - and got the men down safely. With no one hurt and with every precaution taken to ensure the men were safe from further danger, we think the movie's fairing much better than the Broadway show has.

Let's just hope this isn't a bad omen for worse things to come!

White iPhone 4 Selling Well

The long-awaited white version of the hugely popular iPhone 4 was released yesterday in 27 countries.

Apparently it's selling wellpretty well… amazingly well:

Initial reports from Asia indicated it had sold out in Hong Kong and Beijing within hours of going on sale yesterday.

Wow!

We're not very surprised by this, Apple products always sell like hot cakes! (if hot cakes sell millions of units and make phone calls… kind of a ridiculous phrase)

Cue every news outlet reporting on it to say that it's "white hot," right??

Congrats, Steve!

Choosing The Right Software To Make Your Own Beats

Rockabilly music represented change. It was just one aspect of a rapidly changing world. Post World-War II America as a whole was changing more quickly than it ever had before. The soldiers were home and money was freed up from the war effort to be directed once again into consumer production. And as is usually the case, the war had spurred invention and innovation. As a result, consumers were using many more household gadgets, not the least of them, the television. And this surge in the adoption of the TV in American homes gave rockabilly artists a promotional tool that had never been exploited to such a great extent before.

Last night David and I hung out with a group of friends last night that included Cara — who we hadn’t hung out with in ages — and Shane & Jordan, who we always make sure to spend time with when we’re in the city. We convened for dinner at The Smith in the East Village and then made our way to Splash Bar for Musical Monday. We had a blast, primarily because we were in such great company.

Cara is my girl who I’ve known for years but we realized that it had been FAR too long since we hung out together here in the city. Last night was our chance to remedy the fact that we hadn’t seen one another in a while and we picked up as if no time had passed. Shane is one of David’s BFFs so we always make sure to spend time with him here in the city … and randomly, we always run into Jordan here in NYC when we happen to be here. I have to tell you, I am a very lucky person. I know the coolest people in the world and I feel so blessed to count them as friends. That Cara and I can pick up after a few years as if no time has passed is just so wonderful. And there are few people in the world that make me as happy as Jordan does. We ate, we drank and were very merry here last night so … it was a very good night.

Tonight, David and I will be seeing Catch Me If You Can on Broadway. Catch Me stars Kerry Butler, who I met when she was starring in Xanadu and LOVED in Rock of Ages. I am very excited to see her in this new show. It’s supposed to be rainy tonight but I don’t think anything can dampen my spirits today. Happy Tuesday, y’all!!
