The Smithsonian Honors The Original All Female Jazz Group

Does your town/city have a big upcoming performance or concert? Well approach the promoters of the show to get yourself on the line to open for their top performer, this not only gives you more exposure but also helps to make yourself available as a contact of theirs for any of their future shows. Also, try to open for artists that have a similar music style to yours, this way you may be able to pull some new fans from the main act's fan base!

Cee Lo Green Says American Idol Has Run Its Course

Ouch! Sounds like he is throwing down a challenge!

rio-scream-four-box-office-numbers.jpg

Guess the box-office belongs to the kiddies this weekend!

The Friday numbers are in and so far, the family flick Rio is in the lead with an impressive $10.2 million take from the box-office yesterday. If the 3D toon keeps this up, they could end up with a strong $37 million for the weekend.

Coming in at the #2 spot, slashing an estimated $8 million out of movie-goers, was Scre4m. The flick is getting decent reviews, but based on its performance yesterday, it is projected to take in $20 million for the weekend. That's well below what Dimension Films had projected, but still, not a bad start.

C'mon people! You can do better than this! Would it help if we told you we know the ending and it will undoubtedly BLOW YOUR MIND??? Trust us, go see this movie! It's scary! It's funny! It's written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Wes Craven - 'nough said!

Tips for a Perfect Voice Over Recording Experience

Computers have changed the way many things are done today and the music industry is no exception. We are now able to simply download songs right from our computers and burn our own CDs instead of having to go to a music store to purchase it. Well, you can now produce instrumentals from your computer too without having to go to a recording studio. This eliminates the high cost of using many different musicians playing different instruments to achieve the sound you are looking for.

Jessica Simpson! Is That A Baby Bump???

Don't you lie to us!!!
Her ex might have beaten her back down the aisle, but maybe Jessica Simpson will be the first one to have a baby.
Jess was spotted in Brentwood Friday, looking fabulous in that gold mini, getting picked up by her baby dadd fiance Eric Johnson from a photo shoot.

She's in an Empire State of Mind and we don't blame her!

Beyonce and her team made a HUGE announcement this afternoon. Queen B has decided to perform at New York's Roseland Ballroom for four nights near the end of this month. Each of the four nights will include performances of her ENTIRE new album, 4. (Get it?)

4 Intimate Nights with Beyonce kicks off on August 14, and will continue on the 16th, 18th and 19th. Tickets go on sale THIS WEDNESDAY and if we were you, we would nestle ourselves near the computer at least an hour before they go on sale. You're going to have to fight for this!

But it will be so worth it to be that close to Beyonce! Ugh! Our hearts are fluttering with joy!

So, when will the 4 Intimate Nights with Beyonce come to El Lay???

Simple Artwork Can Make Money Online

Metal sculptures have become extensively popularized as lately. Let it be an abstract bronze idol, a wrought iron paper weight or fancy modern infrastructural decor; people always seem to get drawn to this. A skillfully and artistically done metal sculpture can prove to be quite an innovative piece and would still retain its practical value, the reason metal being imperishable commodity, if carefully maintained.

Arts and Entertainment:Music from EzineArticles.com

I really don't need to delve very much into Iron Maiden's influence on rock and metal music. Their stellar career has brought us more than 20 releases, including live albums, videos, studio records and even some documentaries on the band. Coming up with a best Iron Maiden album is a hard task in itself, so trying to make a short list of their best songs is a lot harder. I'm willing to give it a try, but I'll do it by picking what I consider to be the best song of each release. This will include only the studio records, without considering the singles and live albums. Here we go!!

Ukulele: A Great Instrument for Young Kids

You will never get a consensus anytime you start dealing with lists that have the phrase "of all time" attached to them. The best you can hope for is that most of the people can agree that the top three or four have a legitimate reason for being there. Debates will always ensue. Fortunately for me, nobody is in the room with me to debate with. So I am free to skip the other 99, 39, 19, or 9 other slots that would be included in an "all time" list and just tell you why I think "Hey Jude" is the greatest rock song ever recorded.

Amongst the best ways to learn how to sing better or improve your singing, one of the key factors is ridding your larynx of tension. More commonly known as the 'voice box', the larynx is really a small box containing the vocal cords. Composed of cartilage, the larynx is surrounded and supported by muscles.

Cast your mind back to the first time that you heard that soul or rock singer who really captured your ear; the needle hit the groove and the band began to play, with the delicate croon of bluesy soul riding over the music beneath. Wouldn't it be great if we had them now, rather than the terrible pop stars that are force fed into our daily diet of music through the radio and TV?

A few more geek-minded celebs made their way out to Day 2 of New York Comic-Con going on this weekend in the Big Apple making the dreams and wishes of loyal fans come true. Day 2 included in-person appearances by hot ladies Tricia Helfer and Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica as well as hotties Eric Bana and James Franco:

And for some strange reason, Corey Feldman — in his infamous Michael Jackson attire — was in attendance as well. I’m not sure I quite get the connection between Comic Book/Sci Fi awesomeness and Feldman‘s presence but I’m guessing there was an appearance fee included and, well, I’m certain Corey Feldman would never turn down such an offer. To be honest, I always found Feldman‘s MJ impersonation extremely weird … now that MJ has passed, I find it extremely weird AND creepy. But, despite the creep-factor that invariably shows up at these sorts of events, I’m certain the sheer awesomeness makes NYCC a total blast. Sigh. I’m there in spirit …

Carribean Rhapsody by James Carter: CD Review

If you don't like the Foo Fighters, you're really not going to like them by the end of the year. "Wasting Light" is one of their superior releases and should prove itself by staying on the radio and album charts for 2011. Their current tour dismantles every pre-conceived negative thought one might have had about their music. Always notorious for having stellar opening acts, they pulled no punches by adding Motorhead and Scotland's own Biffy Clyro to the bill.

Break Out the Band: 9 Party Types Perfect for Live Music

Since his previous attempts did not materialize he took an extremely unusual step in trying to bring his goal to fruition. After doing that FATE did intervene and Johnny recorded the song. This leads one to wonder that if against all odds certain things do happen to us because Fate intervened that perhaps it was destined to happen all along.

Beat Shop

Ask any rockabilly fan to name their top-10 most-influential rockabilly musicians and it's almost a guarantee that the name Eddie Cochran will appear toward the top of the list. As I sit down to write this article it's the 51 anniversary of Cochran's tragic death on April 17, 1960 in a late-night car crash while on tour in England. Eddie Cochran had only scored a few hit singles in his short career, but his influence on the future of rock and roll can not be overestimated.
